Miracle of the Pastry

On Wednesday, I got a call from a man from Boston who wanted to come down and have me pray over him. He purchased a plane ticket to see me Thursday night.  He said that he had read my book 20x, quite assuming that is probably more than I have read it.

We made the appointment for 4:30 Thursday afternoon. He was a very nice man with lots of faith. He told me a story that happened to him that I would like to share with you.

Three years ago he was struggling with whether or not to purse a building project. John, not his real name, was a developer. He prayed a Novena to St Joseph for a sign. He asked for a sign of snow. On the last day of the Novena 2 feet of snow fell. Not Convinced he prayed another novena to St Joseph and asked for another sign of snow. This time again on the last day of Novena another snow storm. John is a lot like Gideon in the Bible. Gideon asked 3x for a sign from God.

John boldly asked St Joseph for another sign. This Time John said St Joseph, you choose the sign but make it something that is clear to me that it is from St Joseph. John prayed a Novena to St Joesph a third time. This novena ended on the Feast of St Joseph.

On the last day of the Novena, which was the Feast of St Joesph, John was driving and stopped at a red light. There was a tap on his window. A woman walked up to his car and asked that he roll down the window. The woman handed John a pastry and said this pastry is from St Joseph. John took the pastry and put it in his refrigerator.

It is now 3 years since the mysterious woman gave John the pastry. The Pastry is still in his refrigerator. The only thing is that the pastry is still fresh. The whipped cream is still fresh. The pastry has been preserved these many years.

No one has ever eaten a piece of the pastry. Did St Joseph make this Pastry? I am inclined to say Yes.

Now this is one of the signs from God that truly appeals to my taste. Someday I will tell you the mysterious story of the Roast Beef that happened to me at St Patricks.

Or is the Real Miracle the fact that he didn’t eat The Pastry?

  1. Great ! Have to tell Rich about this one!

I have often thought about the story in the bible where they put out the sheep skin to see if a certain prayer was answered in a special way. Does anyone know where that is in the old testement?

  2. Yes, Stefan this was from St. Joesph and God. I’m glad that the man was able to visit you and share this beautiful story.
