Will you enter into the circle of His Mercy?
In today Gospel we read about how the crowd threw the woman caught in Adultery into the middle of the crowd. I can imagine Jesus putting Himself between the woman and the angry crowd.
When I was praying about this Gospel for today homily, I was wondering, “What did Jesus write in the sand that caused the crowds to leave beginning with the eldest?”
There are a lot of thoughts on this, one is when he was writing with His Finger He was making an allusion to finger that wrote the Ten Commandments on stone tablets.
Another thought was he was writing the sins in the sand of those who accused the woman. I was thinking wouldn’t it have been hard to read what He was writing.
This idea came to me in prayer. Jesus made a big circle with His Finger around Himself and the Woman. This circle represents His Mercy and Love. Jesus was symbolically saying this Woman is in the Circle of My Mercy.
I could than imagine Jesus asking those who threw this woman in the middle of crowd and accused her of sin, “Will You come into the Circle with Me and the Woman?”
Question today will you enter into the circle of Mercy with Jesus and the Woman Caught in adultery?
