Francis MacNutt in his book, ‘Healing’ writes, ” The faith to be healed. All the books on healing-including the book on healing, the New Testament-emphasize the role that faith plays in healing. “Go in peace, your faith has made you whole.” is a constant saying of Jesus. Jesus asks of us the strongest kind of faith-a faith that admits of no doubt or hesitation:
Jesus answered, “Have faith in God. I tell you solemnly, if anyone says to the mountain, ‘Get up and throw yourself into the sea,; with no hesitation in his heart but believing that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. I tell you therefore: everything you ask and pray for, believing that you have it already, and it will be yours.” (Mk11:22-24)
This is an incredible, unbelievable statement! Nevertheless, we are asked to believe it, we are to have no hesitation in believing that we have already received whatever we ask for….Such strong statement are not rare in the gospel, as even the most cursory reading will show; on the contrary, faith in asking God for our needs is one of the common New Testament themes.”
Have you ever wondered why your prayers have not been answered? Well there are many reasons, and I don’t pretend to know all of them. But I do know at least one possibility. When we pray asking God, “Please do this. Please heal this person. God please change this circumstance.” We never receive what God wants to give us because we can’t see that God has already answered our prayers. Jesus says, “I tell you therefore: everything you ask and pray for, believing that you have it already, and it will be yours.”
Start thanking God for answering your prayers even before you see them answered with the natural eyes. Seeing with the eyes of faith, and not with the natural eyes now that is FAITH.
