Jesus said to his disciples:
“The Kingdom of heaven is like a treasure buried in a field,
which a person finds and hides again,
and out of joy goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
Again, the Kingdom of heaven is like a merchant
searching for fine pearls.
When he finds a pearl of great price,
he goes and sells all that he has and buys it.” (Mat 13:44-46)
You have the key. The key open up the treasure box. In the treasure box is all all the gifts that God wants to give you. Jesus is the pearl of great price.
Somehow I am not sure how, I was given 10 pearls and 2 pearl necklaces. Last Sunday the Gospel was about the treasure and the pearl of great price. I asked random people what was the theme of the Gospel? If they answered the value of the pearl of great price. I dropped one of the pearls into their hands as a reminder of the Gospel.
Pope Francis wrote, “The novelty of the Holy Spirit. It’s true, but God is a God of surprise, He always surprises us, always, always. We read in the Gospel and find one surprise after another. Jesus surprises us because he arrives before us: He wait for us first, when we seek him he is already seeking us.”
