Last Feb I was asked to give the key note talk at a charismatic conference in Phoenix. On Sat night we had an ecumenical prayer meeting. One of the bishops of phoenix talked about how he was at the home of a friend and Christian minister. During there time in prayer the Holy Spirit fell on them. The bishop said it was like when the Holy Spirit fell in Acts chapter 10. The Pentecost of the gentiles at the house of Cornelius.
We read in (Acts 10: 44-46), ” While Peter was still saying this the Holy Spirit fell on all who heard the word. And the believers from among the circumcised who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles. For they heard them speaking in tongues and extolling God.”
The bishop quoted these words from (Eph 4: 4-6) “There is one Body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of us all, who is above all and through all and in all.”
At the conference in Phoenix we had an ecumenical prayer service. The bishop, myself and a few other priests washed the feet of other Christian ministers. They in turn washed our feet. This was a sign of repentance for sins against the unity of the Body of Christ. On minster gave a beautiful and powerful talk on how Mary brings us to Jesus. At this service you could feel the Holy Spirit.
Yesterday while going through my face book feed I saw that Pope Francis on Pentecost Sunday spoke to this same group in Phoenix. It gave me goosebumps.
