River Glory The First reading this Sunday talks about the Glory of the River

We read in the Prophet Isaiah ” I will spread prosperity over Jerusalem like a river and the wealth of the nations like an overflowing torrent.”

There is glory in the river. the River of God in not a slow moving stream. It is a torrent. St Jerome says this “As the deer longs for running water, so my soul longs for you my God…Their hearts long for springs of running water in the Church. These springs are the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Jeremiah testifies that the Father is like a fountain when he says ‘They have forsaken me, the fountain of loving water. In another passage we read about the Son ‘They have forsaken the fountain of wisdom.’ And again, John says of the Holy Spirit ‘Whoever drinks the water I will give him, that water shall become in him a fountain of water, springing up to eternal life.'”

This is what one woman of God said about the River.
“When you get in touch with the river
of God, the first thing you notice is
how vast it is. It only takes a few
measurements from Heaven to
quickly get you out over your head,
and you suddenly find yourself
swimming. It doesn’’t take long at all
to realize that this river has no
boundaries, no limits, and we are
only beginning to explore the vastness
of it.”

THERE IS A RIVER, the streams whereof shall make
glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of
the most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be
moved: God shall help her, and that right early.
Psalm 46:4-5
And when the man that had the line in his hand went
forth eastward, he measured a thousand cubits, and he
brought me through the waters; the waters were to the
ankles. Again he measured a thousand, and brought me
through the waters; the waters were to the knees. Again
he measured a thousand, and brought me through; the
waters were to the loins. Afterward he measured a thousand;
and IT WAS A RIVER that I could not pass over:
for the waters were risen, waters to swim in, A RIVER
that could not be passed over. Ezekiel 47:3-5
In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and
cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me,
and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath
said, out of his belly shall flow RIVERS OF LIVING WATER.
(But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that
believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was
not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
John 7:37-39
And he showed me A PURE RIVER of water of life, clear
as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the
Lamb. Revelation 22:1

There is life Joy and blessing in the Glorious River of God.
We are called to go swimming in the River of God. Receive all the blessing of God that are found in the River. But to receive these blessing you have to be in River. Let the River Flow. Let the River flow. Let the River of God Flow.
